“23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are Black in America” and How You Can Make a Change

Bey, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monae, and several other celebs joined together to create the short video, “23 Ways You Could Be Killed If You Are Black in America.” Released today, this powerful video packs a whole lotta #truth into just two minutes and 43 seconds by having each celebrity recall incidents over the past few years that have led to the killings of Black people — like failing to signal a lane change, calling for help after an accident, going to bible study, and even laughing.

Before the video wraps, Alicia Keys comes back on screen, urging us to do more than just watch, like, and share. She calls on us to take real action by going to We Are Here Movement “to tell President Obama and Congress that the time for change is now.” She continues, “We demand radical transformation to heal the long history of systemic racism, so that all Americans have the equal right to live and to pursue happiness.”
