‘Bout That Bank: Harriet Tubman to Give the $20 Bill a Dose of #BlackGirlMagic

IT. IS. HAPPENING. A Black woman is going to be the face on that new fetty!

More specifically, the face is going to be of the baddest ride-or-die Black girl who rocks in history — Harriet Tubman. Instead of replacing the mug of Alexander Hamilton (he helped create the Treasury Department and is also the subject of one of the best Broadway shows ever) on the $10 bill, Harriet Tubman will be the new face of the $20 bill. (Deuces, Andrew Jackson!)

That’s not all, though. The $10 bill will get an update, too. According to Politico, while Hamilton will remain on the front, the faces of people who led the women’s suffrage movement will grace the back. The report also says that the $5 bill is expected to be revamped to honor civil rights leaders.

Beyoncé said it best, “Always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper.” And Harriet Tubman replacing slave-owning Andrew Jackson? Retribution at its finest.

UPDATE: After the official announcement from the Treasury Department, it looks like Jackson will just be moved to the back of the $20 bill, rather than deleted entirely.
