It’s seemed like forever since Trevor Jackson teased his newest EP “In My Feelings” on Instagram earlier this year, but FINALLY , it’s here!!
The mixtape is seriously 14 tracks of hot fire — and here’s a quick look at our absolute faves:
We get all in our feelings, too, when Trev’s grandma drops the knowledge. “For God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of a sound mind.” #Preach And the fact that Trevor goes to his grandma for advice when he’s feeling frustrated? He really is just about perfect, huh?
You’ll wanna bang this when you’re fed up with the haters and the fakers and when you need an overall confidence boost. “And it’s like, the same moment that you start winnin’ is the same moment that people say they was with you from the beginnin’ and … that’s my guy and it’s like what are you talkin’ about? I don’t even know you!”
#ChillModeGoals. “Turn down for what? For me, Baby. For me, Baby. For me, Baby.” Well, ok then.
This is most definitely gonna be on your cuffing season playlist. The chorus has a catchy, sing-song type feel that is everything. We cannot stop singing, “Let’s go ahead and make a mixtape…”
Besides sampling Aaliyah’s “Come Over,” the title also seems to be an homage to the day ‘Liyah left this earth. “I don’t see nothin’ wrong with y’all comin’ over, come over, Baby could ya do that much for me…” Talk about all in our feelings.
Like I Do
Trevor goes though the same things we all do, and it’s so good to hear how he keeps his head up — and how he suggests we do the same. “Life is bound to knock you down, but don’t sit around complainin’.”
