The interwebz are all abuzz about Aaliyah: Princess of R&B, the working title for the brand-new Lifetime TV biopic about Aaliyah that’s scheduled to drop sometime this fall. Airing not long after the 13th anniversary of the star’s death, this made-for-TV movie will follow ‘Liyah from her Star Search debut to the plane crash that took her life, as well as several of her crew, after filming the music video for her hit, “Rock the Boat.” 

Zendaya’s on deck to play Aaliyah and will also record four of Aaliyah’s songs for the film. This Disney star has a solid set of pipes and can hold her own on the dance floor, so will she crush it?

Of course, no one can ever replace the L-I-Y-A-H, but we’ll have to tune in and see if this 17-year-old Shake it Up star can go back back, forth and forth on the floor as well as Aaliyah. Tell us what you think in the comments below!
