Set to play Young Venus Williams in the upcoming biopic King Richard, which centers around the tennis G.O.A.T.’s father Richard Williams, Saniyya Sidney is staying true to her career manifestations. “I’ve gotten pretty far here, but I know there’s so much more I can climb,” she told us in her cover interview for our winter 2019 issue. “It’s like I’m on one of the tallest floors, but then, I still have a long way to go. So, I just keep climbing.”

According to Deadline, King Richard will tell the story of how Richard Williams’s “plan to make his daughters the greatest tennis players in the world” became reality.

This film hits theaters the day before Thanksgiving (November 25, 2020) and also stars Will Smith as Richard Williams, Demi Singleton as Young Serena, and Aunjanue Ellis as the mother Brandi Williams.
