I’ma Let You Finish, but Simone Biles is the Greatest Gymnast of All Time

By Ava Marshall

It is indeed a “Hot Girl Summer,” as five-time Olympic medalist (four of them gold) Simone Biles continues to be on fire, lighting up the gymnastics stage. Not only did she win her sixth national all-around title at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships last Friday in Kansas City, Missouri, but she also stretched her winning streak to 20 back-to-back victories.

Y’all thought we were kidding when we said she was on fire?

You may remember Simone for her standout performances as a part of the “Final Five” at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, where then 19-year-old wowed the world with her record-breaking wins, becoming the fifth female gymnast ever to cop four titles at the same games. Tbh, to say she’s phenomenal seems like an understatement.

Now what’s got your TLs buzzing is Biles’s latest record-smashing performances. In Kansas City, the 22-year-old landed a double-double beam dismount — the first ever to do it. As if that wasn’t iconic enough, in a mouth-dropping floor routine, she became the first to land a triple-double, AKA a triple-twisting, double backflip, too.

Peep her magic below. (We’ll brb: off to stretch and attempt to match her fly.)
