Deuntay Diggs, a second lieutenant with the Stafford County sherrif’s department in Stafford, Virginia, knows how to get a homecoming pep rally turnt. And last Friday (Oct. 14), Diggs did just that when he surprised the students of North Stafford High School (our editor-in-chief’s alma mater!) by coming to slay.

Among a sea of cheering students clad in their orange and blue school colors, Diggs broke out into a spot-on rendition of Beyoncé’s Formation. “I basically learned the choreography the night before I performed it for the first time,” he told BuzzFeed News in a recent phone interview. “I’m a huge Beyoncé fan … I just watched her video on YouTube over and over again, and then I memorized it, practiced it, and the next day, I did it.”
Besides throwin’ down on the dance floor and serving the community as an officer, Diggs is also a motivational speaker who, according to his website, addresses topics such as race, sexuality, and diversity.
