Also inside: the #BlackGirlMagic origin story you didn’t know, beauty inspo straight out the ’90s, how to silence mental health stereotypes, plus more!

Read an excerpt of Aria’s cover story below:

Ask Aria Brooks how she landed her latest role as Libby in Disney+’s upcoming original movie Better Nate Than Ever, and she’ll give props to her 2021 vision board. She’d plastered it with goals like reaching 100,000 followers on TikTok (she got 200,000) and securing a lead part in a major motion picture. Set to hit the streamer on April 1, that major motion picture, which is based on Tim Federle’s novel of the same name, follows 13-year-old Nate and his quick-witted BFF Libby, as they conjure a plot to head to New York City and audition for Lilo and Stitch: The Musical — all on the low, without their parents finding out. This comedy of errors is rife with hilarious obstacles and will debut two new original songs, including Aria’s big number, “#GoAwf.”
